About Velettà

Velettà was created in 2018 by Wellington-based entrepreneur Sarah Bacon to celebrate and acknowledge the sometimes-elusive journey of self discovery. Amid a demanding career as a lawyer, her lunchtime escapes to department store beauty counters were as much about indulgence as they were about relief. It was her vision to create New Zealand skincare with an accessible at-home experience that offered unparalleled results coupled with an element of ritual which started her on the journey.

At Velettà, our mission is to offer women potent, highly-effective natural skincare full of the highest quality ingredients. Our sustainable products are designed for skin that has lived, acknowledging the journey you have taken, and the delicate world we live in.

Identity — The Veil, Lifted

Velettà is Italian for veil — chosen first for how it sounded, but its meaning found us anyway. There's the physical veil: the skincare you apply each day. And there's the personal veil it helps lift — revealing the woman beneath, whether she's who you've always been, or who you're only just becoming. Velettà doesn't ask you to change. It asks you to be seen.

Natural plant oils and essences are the foundation of every product in the Velettà range. It's this foundation that makes our skincare so versatile — suitable for all skin types, including mature skin — helping to effectively:

Rehydrate and rejuvenate dry skin
Restore balance to combination or oily skin
Soothe sensitive skin and calm inflammation and irritation
Rebalance hormonal and blemish-prone skin

We've also woven in ingredients that are uniquely ours — sourced right here in New Zealand. Totarol, drawn from the native tōtara tree, is a potent antibacterial, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory compound with three times the antioxidant strength of Vitamin E. Mānuka essential oil is prized for its remarkable ability to calm inflammation and fight acne-causing bacteria. And we've reached further still into New Zealand's native flora — including Mamaku, the native black tree fern, and New Zealand Red Seaweed, both valued for their brightening, tone-evening properties. It's a small country with a remarkable pantry, and we intend to keep exploring it.

We set out to create the best natural skincare in New Zealand — and we hold ourselves to it. Every Velettà product is cruelty-free, vegan, and halal-certified and audited. Vegan means exactly that: no animal products or byproducts, ever — and never, ever tested on animals.

We're just as deliberate about what we leave out. We steer clear of anything that's hard on your adrenal system, hard on the environment, or simply doesn't work. That means our products are 100% free from:
