About Velettà

Velettà was created in 2018 by Wellington-based entrepreneur Sarah Bacon to celebrate and acknowledge the sometimes-elusive journey of self discovery. Amid a demanding career as a lawyer, her lunchtime escapes to department store beauty counters were as much about indulgence as they were about relief. It was her vision to create New Zealand skincare with an accessible at-home experience that offered unparalleled results coupled with an element of ritual which started her on the journey.

At Velettà, our mission is to offer women potent, highly-effective natural skincare full of the highest quality ingredients. Our sustainable products are designed for skin that has lived, acknowledging the journey you have taken, and the delicate world we live in.

There are three key factors that form the foundation of Velettà.

Natural, pure, quality and concentrated ingredients were consciously and ethically chosen for the formulations of our products because they genuinely work to help your skin to be the best it can be. This does not mean flawless, it means healthy, hydrated and yours. Velettà is for skin that has lived.

Acknowledging and nurturing your self-worth, especially as you move through the different chapters of your life. We worldly women are good at prioritising others, leaving our own needs at the end of the list, but we have so much still to offer! Allowing yourself to be you, whether that’s the person you’ve always been, or whether the person you were destined to be is still to make an appearance. Velettà is Italian for veil. Although chosen on a whim for its beautiful sound, its definition is serendipitous; Velettà is the physical skincare veil that is applied, and the metaphorical personal veil is lifted. Both revealing the true essence of who we are.

Natural plant-based facial oils are the basis of Velettà skincare. The beauty of natural face oils is that they are suitable for all skin types, including mature skin, helping to effectively:

Rehydrate and rejuvenate dry skin
Restore balance to combination or oily skin
Soothe and calm sensitive skin and reduce inflammation and irritation
Restore balance to hormonal and blemish-prone skin

Our natural skincare products also contain some uniquely New Zealand ingredients, including Totarol, a potent antibacterial, antimicrobial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound (three times stronger than Vitamin E); and Mānuka essential oil, which possesses extraordinary antifungal, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties to help reduce inflammation and reduce acne-causing bacteria.

We strive to create the best natural skincare in NZ. Our products are cruelty-free, halal-certified and audited. The Velettà range is also completely vegan, which means our products don’t contain any animal products or byproducts and they are never, ever tested on animals.

We steer clear of ingredients that are bad for your adrenal system, for our environment or that simply aren’t effective. That means our products are 100% free from: Parabens; Propylene; Butylene Glycols; Petroleum; Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS); Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES); PEGs; Diethanolamine; Triethanolamine; Phthalates; artificial dyes; artificial fragrances; fillers; soy; wheat; gluten and alcohol.

Our products are packaged in glass and recyclable cardboard, to keep our carbon footprint and impact on the environment as minimal as possible. All the pure, concentrated ingredients in Velettà products are included because they genuinely work to help your skin be the best it can be.
