Cleansing Oils: The Foundation of Calm, Healthy Skin

Posted by Sarah Bacon on

Cleansing is the most underestimated step in skincare. Done poorly, it undermines everything that follows. Done well, it supports barrier function, reduces inflammation and improves overall skin health.

Why cleansing oils work

Oil dissolves oil. Cleansing oils effectively remove makeup, sunscreen and impurities without disrupting the skin’s lipid balance. Unlike foaming cleansers, they don’t strip or destabilise the barrier.

Ideal for sensitive and ageing skin

As skin matures, it becomes less tolerant of surfactants. Cleansing oils are particularly well suited to reactive, dry or post‑menopausal skin, where barrier preservation is critical.

How to cleanse properly

Massage onto dry skin, emulsify with warm water, and remove with a warm cloth like Velettà's 2 Luxury Cloths. Skin should feel clean, comfortable and calm, never tight.

Velettà’s Cleansing Oil is formulated to cleanse deeply while leaving the skin balanced and receptive to treatment products.
