Reapplying sunscreen during the day is essential for protecting your skin from harmful UV rays, but it can be challenging to do so without ruining your foundation. However, with the right techniques and products, you can maintain a flawless complexion while ensuring your skin's safety.
At the beginning of the day, cleanse and moisturise your face before applying any makeup. Allow your moisturiser to absorb fully into your skin before proceeding. Apply a decent amount of sunscreen. Choose a lightweight formula that is at least a factor 30. Let is sit for a minute or two. Next, apply your makeup, including foundation, concealer, and any other desired products.
For application during the day, opt for a sunscreen with a lightweight and non-greasy formula, specifically designed for application over makeup. Look for a spray or mist sunscreen or a powder sunscreen, which are easy to apply without disturbing your makeup.
Shake the spray or mist sunscreen well and hold it at least 6 inches away from your face. Close your eyes and spray a light, even mist over your entire face. Ensure that the sunscreen covers all exposed areas. If using a powder sunscreen, use a clean, fluffy brush to gently apply the powder evenly across your face.
Alternatively, you can dispense a small amount of sunscreen onto the back of your hand and use a makeup sponge or a clean, flat foundation brush to dab the sunscreen gently onto your face. Pat the sunscreen in, avoiding rubbing or smearing that may disturb your makeup.
Reapply the sunscreen throughout the day, especially if you're spending extended periods in the sun or sweating.
Remember to remove your makeup and sunscreen thoroughly at the end of the day to allow your skin to breathe and regenerate. We love using Velettà Cleansing Oil to remove all the days detritus.
By following these steps and using suitable sunscreen products, you can protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays without compromising your makeup's look and feel.
